IBM Open Power Server System

IBM p-Series Server Model 9131/52A – Hardware Management Console with 2 High end Power Pc’s. Each Power Pc’s consists of 4 Power PC 64 bit processors, 9216 MB RAM, Redundant SMPS,Tape storage device and HMC Firmware(for Managing Power cycling ,Maintenance and other related Administrative activities) installed with various Linux OS.

This data centre is equipped with Precesion Air Conditioner unit with Redundant (Dual) 10 KVA Online UPS facility besides back-bone Foundary gigabit network switch and other Network switches connected to various other laboratories of the department.

Usage

These servers are used for system Administration and Conducting regular laboratory classes, Project and Research Works

Intel Lab/UG Lab-3	20 Number Dell Computers with, Intel Core2 duo 2 GB RAM, 250/80 GB SATA HDD, DVD RW, Windows XP Professional/Ubuntu 12.10 with 17” TFT LCD Monitor. All the PCs are networked in the departmental LAN. This lab is used for conducting regular UG Lab classes.
Software Lab/UG Lab-2	30 Number Dell Computers with, Intel Core-i7 . 8 MB L2 Cache, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SATA HDD, DVD RW, Windows 8 Professional/Ubuntu 12.10 with 18.5” TFT LCD Monitor All the PCs are networked in the departmental LAN. This lab is used for conducting regular UG Lab classes.
Research Project Lab	20 Intel Pentium IV processor with 256 MB RAM 40 GB HDD with Windows XP OS All the PCs are networked in the departmental LAN. This lab is used for conducting regular UG Lab classes.
I PG Lab	30 Number Dell Computers with, Intel Core-i7 . 8 MB L2 Cache, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SATA HDD, DVD RW, Windows 8 Professional/Ubuntu 12.10 with 18.5” TFT LCD Monitor 25 Numbers of Dell Make Computers with Intel Core2 Duo, 2 GB DDR2 RAM, 250 GB HDD, DVD RW, 19” TFT Monitors with Windows XP/Linux All the PCs are networked in the departmental LAN. This lab is used for conducting regular Ist Year MTech(CSE) and M.Tech(CSE-IS) Lab classes.
